I think the dental profession is out to cause me a nervous breakdown. Tara is right about dentists - they are evil and shouldn't be trusted!
NO NEW TEETH! I repeat...
NO NEW TEETH!
I was so devastated I almost started crying while laying in the damn chair with the dentist's hands in my mouth. And his reassurances that I shouldn't be upset and it will all work out did nothing to help.
Apparently the lab who made my new teeth used the wrong shade of white. Did you know there are like a million shades of white in the world of teeth? The new teeth were shade A1 (or possibly B1 as the doctor and his assistant discussed back and forth) and I am closer to an OM3. Te choice was mismatched teeth (which would just add to my white-trashiness) or wait another two weeks (which is what the secretary -Dawn- (who is not my favorite person due to past run-ins) told me the lab needed to make the teeth). The dentist said, no we can do a rush order.
(So now I have another reason to hate Dawn, she lies!)
In went the stupid retainer/flipper thing and off I went to the lab.
The lab man was really nice (although I still blame him some) and he matched the shade to the other teeth in my mouth (which is probably a good thing because he thinks I'm closer to an OM1, so if he would have just gone with the dentist and OM3 I may have had to go through all of this again... next week).
My six month timeline has come and gone. Dawn started it all by telling me about the two week teeth making process, then the dentist went out of town (five days more) and now the teeth are wrong (seven days more).
All liars! Then they try to make you feel better when you know for sure they haven't had to deal without front teeth and teasing for the past SEVEN months.
(And apparently, even a day later, I am still deeply upset). So I know you were all anxious to see the new beauties, but we have to WAIT another ENTIRE week for them. (And take another 1/2 day off work because I was too depressed to return yesterday).
