So I had some minor (ok, it actually was major, but I don't like to talk about it) dental surgery last week. After taking a long nap, to allow the anesthesia to wear off, I headed to the pharmacy to pick up some drugs - one of which was a pain killer that I thought I might need/enjoy (don't judge me!)
I dropped off the prescriptions and was told it would be about an hour. I returned about 50-55 minutes later and found they hadn't even entered my prescriptions in the computer. So they said they would hurry and get them done.
I sat down to wait, and the craziness started....
First, this older guy came in and spoke with the pharmacist about how the pills they gave him were wrong. He said he has 'an eye for detail' and the last pills he had were more 'saucer' shaped. The pharmacist repeatedly told him they were the exact same pills. The guy next to me was laughing his head off and said the entire interaction made his day - I told him the pills were probably anti-psychotics!
Second, the pharmacy tech called me up and stated my sister was on the phone. I just stared at him and stated I didn't have a sister - in which he just stared back. Now, I do have three sister-in-laws, but none of them knew I was at the pharmacy. His response was sorry, I must have heard wrong. WHAT?!
And then, after waiting 20 minutes, the pharmacy tech came and asked how to spell my name. I told her and she apologized for the wait and stated she had entered everything wrong. Now this pissed me off... the prescriptions had the correct spelling of my name, my ID has the correct spelling of my name (which she looked at) and I had filled prescriptions there two weeks previous with the correct spelling. There is no excuse for stupid people that don't pay attention to details.
I really thought something had happened during the surgery and I ended up in some parallel universe.
Eventually it took me waiting 30 minutes to get the prescriptions. I don't think I will be visiting that fine establishment again.
