I've had to go to court several times in the last month for work. Since I'm no longer a regular at court, I don't have the glorious stickers to park for free. So I figured rather than paying to park underground, or risk parking at a meter and getting a ticket, I would just ride Trax. The stop is only about two blocks from work, so it seems like a good idea.
Trip 1: I barley missed the Sandy train, so I ended up on a University train. I got off at the exchange and only had 10 minutes until court. I figured I could walk the three blocks faster than waiting. But the problem was I had on cheap shoes (that are fine for cuteness, but not for power-walking) and ended up with horrendous blisters. And when I got to court I was all sweaty and gross.... perfect! (Sorry Judge, don't mind the drops of sweat running down my face.... sorry about the sweat drop on the official court documents).
Trip 2: I was better prepared. I wore my fabulous Dansko's (seriously, these are one of the best purchases of my life) and didn't wear a belt (which I would have to remove to go through the metal detectors). Everything was moving along nicely until the train was slow and I was late for court. But the day was much cooler so no sweat was dripping off my face. And court is always behind schedule, so I didn't miss anything.
Trip 3: I gave myself extra time to wait for the train. Lucky number three proved to be the best trip of all. It even included a man yelling at his imaginary friend, "No you had better not. OH, I can't believe you. I told you," and so on.
I really wanted to get a picture of him, but worried he would stab me. Just picture a white trash, stringy long haired man yelling at his own reflection in the window. It was awesome!
Some days I think I should just ride the train from end to end so I can watch all the people. (And it would be a great time-waster when I'm avoiding work).
